Menachim Begin (1913-1992) and Zbiginiew Brzezinski (1928-2017)

Camp David (September 1978)

Menachin Begin was the prime minister of Israel from 1977 until 1983, and Zbiginiew Brzezinski was President Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor from 1977 until 1981.

The photograph was taken on the occasion of the Camp David Accords -- an agreement brokered by Jimmy Carter that fell far short of what was necessary to establish peace between the peoples of Palestine and the Israeli occupation of their land.

Peace was established between Egypt and Israel.
