HKLNA-Project Announcement
(March 31, 2005)

A very long time in coming.
Showtime
You can now access Part 1 of EARTH's three-part interactive Quicktime movie series. Part 1 provides you with detailed background information to Hong Kong's demography, international economy, educational system, and language policy. The movie operates very much like a Keynote or Powerpoint presentation whose forward speed you control. Unlike a Keynote or Powerpoint presentation, however, there is no presenter. For this reason detailed explanations have been provided wherever possible.

The movie is packed with graphs, charts, tables and creative transitions that facilitate understanding and make the movie both an interesting and pleasurable information source. As there is little contained in the movie that cannot already be found on the HKLNA-Project's website, please refer to the site when more detailed explanations and source information is required. The sections entitled Data Collection and Quality Assessment will probably be the most useful in this regard. Further inquiries should be directed to EARTH at moogoonghwa@mac.com.

As the movie is 232 MB in size it is strongly recommended that you download the entire document before viewing.  Those without high-speed, broadband access can obtain a copy of the movie on CD. You may like to wait until all three parts of the series have been completed before making your request, however.

HKLNA-Project's Newsletter
The HKLNA-Project's newsletter will remain suspended until EARTH can find an internet service provider (ISP) that permits mass-mailings; or alternatively, EARTH has discovered a different low-cost means to reach over one thousand subscribers via the internet. For the moment a commercial account is simply not affordable and finding a new internet service provider that permits mass mailing in Hong Kong is unlikely. Spamming and junk mail have become a major irritant for too many internet users.

Closing Remarks
Please do not forget to take advantage of EARTH's quality translation, research, and new tutorial service.  EARTH's survival is the foundation for the HKLNA-Project's success!

Sincerely,
Kiu Sau signature (Cantonese for Stegemann)
