2021 - A Year of Entrenchment

In America there are two major political parties — the Republicans and the Democrats. The established press has assigned to each a color. The Republicans have been assigned the color red and the Democrats the color blue. If you have ever seen a visible light spectrum you will know that these two designated colors are polar opposites in the spectrum.

Why Americans are addicted to a political duopoly is not clear. A duopoly run by a powerful hidden establishment with its own agenda is not much better than a monopoly where the bosses are always in your face. I suppose a duopoly offers more political entertainment than does the monopoly of the Chinese Community Party (CCP). In the end, it is the politics that goes on behind the curtain that is far more important than the politics that is played out before the curtain.

This said, there are several real differences between the two parties depending on where you live. For example, I live in a blue city, in a blue county, and in a blue state, and I have become quite "e;blue"e;, as a result. This said, I am fighting back and trying hard to keep my spirit up!

Since I cannot “go outside” and do the things that I want to do without an mRNA injection and a mask, I pretty much feel “grounded”. In effect, my governments treat me as a child whose brain does not count.

Things would not be so bad, if they did not appear so utterly stupid. It were as if they were not paying any attention to the science that they constantly feed us as a justification for their ineffective policy rules.

In an effort to fight against my frustration I thought I would share with you one of their stupid rules and show you how stupid they truly are. The rule is that everyone must wear a mask when they are in indoors in public places except for when they are eating or drinking.

Now, the mask that surgeons typically wear in an operating room to prevent the spread of bacteria is 40% effective against the CoVID virus. Most people do not wear these masks; they wear more stylistic cloth masks, as if it were somehow cool to cover your face with the bottom half of a bikini. These cloth masks offer next to zero protection against the transmission of viral pathogens. The people who wear them are motivated by a variety of reasons, but surely none of them are motivated by 'sound science'. Important is that even the surgical masks are redundant. Let me explain.

A mask that offers only 40% defense implies a 60% chance of transmission.

Now, if a virus has a 60% chance of escaping one mask, and a 60% chance of penetrating another mask, then there is a 36 percent chance of transmission when two people are wearing one mask each. This probability is known as a joint probability and is obtained by multiplying the probability of each occurrence — 0.60 x 0.60 = 0.36 or 36%).

From this simple experiment in deductive mathematical logic you can readily see that there is only a 4% difference between everyone wearing a mask and only those who are fearful of becoming infected.

Now ask yourself how important is your smile and all of the other gestures that you make with your facial muscles that cannot be observed by your interlocutor when you are wearing a mask.

There are more muscles concentrated in your face than there are in any other part of your body There is a reason for this. It is called communication — a paramount social activity without which many people can suffer from loneliness, alienation, anxiety, and depression.

In the State of Washington where I live there are a lot of tree cutters, and paper is usually made from wood pulp. Might this be the explanation why everyone, rather than every other one, is wearing masks indoors in the city of Seattle?

Maybe our government officials are not so dumb. They are just plain corrupt.
