East Asia and the Pacific - Receipts per tourist arrival

Hong Kong lies below the average for East Asia and the Pacific. Both South Korea and Japan demonstrate better receipts per arrival1.

Note1: Hong Kong's poor performance may be brought about by a large number of pass-throughs on their way to China, or alternatively on their way from China to other overseas locations. In either case they spend little time and money and do not require a large number of Hong Kong citizens to service their tourist needs.
