Note
1: There are five key stages at the grade
school level. Each
is indicated with the code KS. The pre-primary stage (kindergarten)
including K1-K3,
although well-defined, does not form a part
of the formal language certification process recommended by SCOLAR.
The university stages U1-U3 (undergraduate) and G1-G4 (graduate) are
somewhat arbitrary and created for use with the diagram. (table) |
Note
2: This is the average number of students enrolled
at each grade level for
each stage. It is calculated by dividing the total number of students
for a particular stage (column 1) by the number of years for that
stage. See Source
1a below. The enrolment distributions across the
levels U1-U3 and G1-G4 are not rigorous in this regard. (table) |
Note
3: The base year (1.00) was determined by selecting the key stage
in
which the most students were enrolled (KS2) and then dividing by the number
of years (3 yrs.) for that stage. All
percentages were obtained by dividing either the total or the average
(see note 2 above) enrolment number (column 2) into the enrolment
number for the base years (84,407 students). (table) |
